Paris Fashion Week: When Streetwear and High Fashion Walk Together

Paris Fashion Week: When Streetwear and High Fashion Walk Together
Paris Fashion Week 2025 made some real statements, and we are here for all of it. This year’s exhibition was as creative as it gets. Designers pushed boundaries, refined norms, and celebrated their different styles. From nostalgic revivals to futuristic concepts, the collections came with one intention: to capture attention, and it’s safe to say they nailed it.
Pharrell Williams, whose name remains on everyone's lips following the success of his acclaimed collaboration with Louis Vuitton, once again stole the spotlight. His tribute to the brand’s legacy was a seamless blend of innovation and tradition, leaving the audience in awe.
As the week unfolded, the return of ALAÏA became one of the most talked-about trends. But the excitement didn't end there. Nike, ASICS, New Balance, adidas, and UGG also made waves, each brand pushing boundaries with designs that artfully combined nostalgia and futuristic elements.

Sneaker collaborations were particularly noteworthy this year. Pharrell Williams' partnership with adidas resulted in the eye-catching "Jellyfish" sneakers, while the Aries x PUMA Mostro collaboration brought a futuristic twist to the original silhouette. These innovative partnerships not only highlighted the creativity of the designers but also set the stage for future trends.
With so many groundbreaking creations, we can't help but wonder: which sneaker collaboration will redefine the future of fashion next?
Well, we know one thing for sure: this year's sneaker collaborations confirmed a broader trend in the fashion industry: streetwear. Once considered a niche market, streetwear has now firmly established itself in high fashion. The journey of streetwear from the streets to the runways is a fascinating story of cultural evolution and innovation that we will get into...

From Streets to the High Fashion Runway
Before we get into streetwear fashion from Paris Fashion Week, let’s take this back to the era that precedes even 90s hip-hop fashion.
What’s streetwear? Streetwear is a distinct casual and unconventional style of dressing that emerged from the 1970s through the 1980s and 90s. Different subcultures, such as skateboarding, surf, and hip-hop, started to make it more mainstream.
In no time, streetwear became a movement that transcended politics, music, art, and technology. After Run DMC made adidas popular with their hit song, My adidas, the iconic brand, soared in the streets of America. Before long, though, Nike started to go shoe for shoe with their rivals.
In more recent times, Supreme and Virgil Abloh’s Off-White have gained more attention with truly innovative styles.
The celebrated designs of these famous names and the demand for their threads and sneakers made them hard to ignore. Their place is now firmly etched onto the runways of high fashion.
Trendy Trainers and Collaborations from Paris Fashion Week
We’ve held out long enough on the best parts of Paris Fashion Week 2025. This year’s lineup of collaborations between celebrated designers and brands offered reinterpretations of classic silhouettes and new concepts. Here are the best parts to look out for.

Comme des Garçons Collaborations
CDG x Nike
Originally designed as a recovery shoe for athletes during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Nike Air Rejuven8 caught CDG's attention. The new upper is replaced with Flymesh material, presenting even more enhanced breathability to fans. This shoe is available in black and white colorways, which is on brand with CDG’s aesthetic.
CDG x ASICS
Which shoe got upgraded here? The GEL-Kayano 14 is what you’re looking for. CDG went with another minimalist approach to feature all-white versions with mesh uppers and synthetic leather overlays. They didn’t just create a clean, breathable design with the uppers; they maintained ASICS’ signature GEL technology for added comfort.
CDG x New Balance
This collaboration focused on the 509 model, a tech-inspired runner from the early 2010s. It features two leather-based designs in clean white and grey colorways. Branded details on the insoles and tongue tags add a touch of exclusivity, but that’s not where the magic of this sneaker ends. Perforated leather uppers and smooth leather overlays paired with tonal ABZORB midsoles add great cushioning and a refined texture. This model is an excellent example of Paris fashion street style.
Auralee x New Balance T500
With the reinvention of the NB brand in recent years, its sneakers have become synonymous with fashion trainers. New Balance did not hold back in collaborating with Auralee, a Tokyo-based brand. The focus of this collaboration was the T500 tennis shoe, first released in 1982. It features perforations in the toe box for breathability and co-branded insoles for a touch of exclusivity.
Imagine pairing these with oversized pants and a matching T-shirt. You’ll be ready for the runway yourself. This shoe offers another minimalistic aesthetic in two colorways: brown with a gum sole and cream.
Sacai x UGG
If it’s not broken, don’t fix it. After collaborating in 2018, Sacai’s partnership with UGG remains strong, and the two delivered again for streetwear fashion. They offered a collection of hiking boots, soft loafers, and knee-high boots that give off a luxury streetwear vibe.
Aries x PUMA Mostro
Futuristic looks are a must-have, and this sneaker has a touch of that. Aries reimagined the PUMA Mostro to give it a silhouette with neoprene, suede trims, and reflective branding elements. Elastic toggles at the rear bring added comfort, while the signature Mostro look is preserved with the original spiked rubber outsole.
Kiko Kostaninov x ASICS
This designer is known for creating trendy trainers, and here, again, he delivered. The collaboration between ASICS and Kiko Kostantinov paid homage to the split-toe collection inspired by the Onitshuka Marathon Tabi shoes from 1953. That’s a shoe from ages ago, and we love it.
So what did he create? The collaboration included three boots with tabi toe designs and two low-top sneakers. These are a sure way to make your wardrobe look varied.
Pharrell x adidas Jellyfish
After making a name for himself in music, this icon continues to push boundaries with fashion trainers. Pharell and adidas came together to present a twist to the Jellyfish sneaker collection. With great details and a vibrant palette, this model features a chunky silhouette, geometric overlays, and breathable mesh uppers. They’ll be launching in the Summer of 2025, so keep an eye out!
