As can be expected from a real cult shoe, the Converse All Star has a long and exciting history to look back on. More than 100 years ago, American Linda Rinn founded the Converse Rubber Shoe company, which initially produced winter-proof shoes. In 1917, Converse finally brought out the first All Star model in black, originally only intended as a basketball shoe. The shoe nevertheless enjoyed increased recognition and popularity thanks to the basketball player Chuck Taylor, who also worked for Converse. Through him, the shoe also gained the iconic round patch, the full name Converse All Star Chuck Taylor and as a result, the nickname ‘Chucks’. The success of the All Stars was now sealed, and in 1936 the entire American Olympic basketball team was wearing the cool canvas shoe. Chucks quickly became a staple not only in the sports hall but also in everyday life. Music and film icons such as James Dean and Elvis Presley loved the shoes and were often spotted in them. In 1971, Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger even got married in a green suit and white Chucks. Could it get any cooler?

    One shoe, countless variations

The more popular the Converse Chucks became, the more varied the designs became. The first and therefore classic version is the high-top All Star, which rests above the ankle. Whether with trousers or shorts, skirt or sports shorts, the high-cut original design goes with anything! Later came the extra high Chucks, with a shaft twice as long as the high-tops, as well as the lower design, ending below the ankle. The latter are perfect for warmer weather. The cool comfortable shoe was given an extra-thin sole for this design.

Whatever model you decide on, no Chuck should be missing the distinctive white rubber sole and rubber toecap or the round patch and matching laces! The shoe is usually made from light canvas, giving it a laid-back look. Designs made from other materials such as leather give a particularly individual and stylish look. The colours are also not limited to the classic black and white, your favourite colour is guaranteed. From daring skulls to cute flowers all the way to artistic prints, the right model is available for every mood!

Easy to be a star at every occasion

Whether on the sports field, shopping, or in the club, with Converse All Stars your feet are guaranteed to be the stars! The trendy shoes can be combined with an unbelievable variety of looks and go with every style easily, whether you're a sports nut, fashion girl or laid-back music lover. They look just as distinctly cool with ripped jeans and a V-neck top as they do with stylish chinos and a polo shirt. They complete a combination of skinny jeans and a band top just as well as a blouse and romantic fishtail skirt combo. A pair of Chucks gives any outfit a cool downgrade and still shows off your sense of style. It’s difficult to really know which design you should pick. Basics like the high-top or flat Converse Chucks in black or white always go with anything. Those who would rather give their stylish look a particular eye-catching note can easily get hold of bright colours, unusual patterns and extravagant materials. For all those who can’t decide, fortunately there is some good news. One can never have too many Chucks!
